Shared a lunch table with two Italians and one French. We all wanted to talk with each other faster than our skills in each other’s respective languages would allow.

I took out my iPad mini, opened the Google Translate app, set it to auto-recognize language, touched the microphone icon, and asked my new friends to start talking. The app translated perfectly every word of Italian and French.

My lunch companions downloaded the app on their phones and set it up to auto recognize language. We then all chatted away, with each of us able to read the other’s words on our screens.

I felt as though I were at the Untied Nations. 🙂
