One of my favorite days of the year growing up was the first Tuesday after Labor Day–the first day of school. Dressed in new clothes, carrying a new lunchbox and school supplies, I was invariably the first person at the bus stop.
My mom always snapped a photo of me. I carried on the tradition after I left home (first day of law school, first day of flight school, etc.). I always printed out a copy of the photo and sent to her.
So this snap is for you, Mom. First day of Spanish school (with new outfit on and new school supplies in my tote bag). A print will be in the mail when I get back to the States.
