No taxis today! We opted for horses instead.
We drove to the Pululahua Geobotanica Reserve and then circumnavigated the lava dome in the center of the crater on horseback.
I have been horse-mad since I was a young girl, so any excuse to mount up is a welcome one. We galloped our steeds along dirt roads, climbed up rocky paths, and passed a handful of working farms before stopping for lunch. (I am becoming addicted to yucca chips.)
Too soon it was time to head back to the barn, where I reluctantly said goodbye to my little bay mare.
