2032_463588020502031_2483889429568309579_nAfter lunch, it was time for romancing the stone: emeralds, of course.

We toured the Emerald Museum, which conveniently ended in a jewelry shop. There I almost made the fatal (to my wallet) mistake of trying on a pair of diamond-and-emerald-studded gold hoops before allowing Husband to pull me back onto the street.*

*I had made him promise before we went in to do just that if my magpie tendencies–“ooo, shiney!”– asserted themselves.

It was pretty interesting to see the stones in their natural state. I can’t imagine what it would feel like to turn over a rock and see those green crystals sparkling up at you!
